UPDATE 18TH AUGUST: We're pleased to announce we will be opening the shop on Saturday 29th August for the first Record Store Day Drop. This will be the first time we have opened since March. Whilst the bar remains closed for now we are working towards reopening in September with socially distanced gigs, hopefully more news coming soon.
As most of you now know, from 4th July pubs will start to open again. Originally hearing this news we had planned to open as a bar and host seated shows consisting of live acoustic music, comedy or poetry on our smaller upstairs stage. However, unfortunately under the government’s guidelines for re-opening all forms of live entertainment will not be allowed (indoors or outdoors). We have always been a live music space and arts venue, that’s what brings people to Elsewhere! So with that in mind we don’t believe it will currently be viable for us to operate purely as a bar (especially with all the excellent seaside offerings available in our town). So, we will stay closed, for now! We really hope we can open the shop and venue again soon, and we will be in a much stronger place for it!
The online record store is still running and things are mostly operating smoothly however we have seen a big jump in demand to online shopping so your order may take an extra day or 2 to ship than normal. Royal Mail are also having issues in certain parts of the country so your patience is appreciated.
We are also still offering free local delivery to those in Thanet.
